Make Your Winter Break Absolutely Amazing
Wondering how to spend the few precious weeks you have for Winter Break this year? Here are some ideas to get you started!
If you are like me and have time off when everyone else is back at school already, you can definitely go visit friends from home at their colleges, as long as you don’t interfere with their final exams. It is always fun to see your old friends and meet the people they spend most of the year with. It also gets you out of the house so that you and your parents do not have World War III because you are not used to living together anymore.
That being said, take other trips too. Whether you like to ski, go to the beach, or just get away when you’re home, make plans to go with other friends that are home, friends from school, or your family to get out of the house. Because it is a popular time for college students to get away, there are a lot of events going on that are directed towards you! It could be cheaper lift tickets at the mountain, discounted drinks at the bar (if you are 21!), or even hotel rooms for a less expensive price.
If you don’t have the money to get away, catch up on things you do not get to do at school. Generally, because you are busy with clubs, activities, and school work, you do not have time to read that new book that came out or see the movie you’ve been meaning to. Over Winter Break, get to it! If you are not busy and have time, curl up by the fire and spend some time relaxing and doing the things that you enjoy!
Finally, get a job! Tons and tons of stores are hiring for the holiday season and it is a great time to make a little extra money for when you go back to school. Sometimes, these stores will even be willing to hire you again when you come back in the summer, so do your best to be an extremely hard worker.
Overall, just do something you will enjoy! It may not be the best break you have ever had, but as long as it is relaxing, filled with a few memorable times, or you get a jump start on rejuvenating your bank account, it will be worth it.
